hohoho,

i've been a busy busy little bee these few days. projects here projects there. projects everywhere!!! well, holidays are jus round the corner. though i'm still bombarded with heaps of assignments, i shall also take a much needed breather during the one week break.

to JAP: i cant wait for escape themepark and the zoo. might we include a trip to malaysia too?

an exciting event that happened over the week was Siti Nurhaliza's concert. it happened on wednesday, 20th july at the singapore indoor stadium. this was how the day went...

met up with jasmine and ps. this guys are my best pals in poly.

so we had dinner at thai express. we had curry soft shell crab, fried squid in thai sauce and money rolls which is a kind of spring roll. haha. dinner was uber yummy and i was waaaaaaay too full to move after that.

later we took the train to Kallang mrt and board a cab to the indoor stadium. there were so many malays. haha. almost felt like a hari raya sale was going on or smthing. the starting was performed by a local male artist whom i'm not really a fan of but i have to say his vocal was fantactic. later he sang a duet with 'siti' or so we thought. it was actually the winner of 'Siti Clone'. she sounded like her and they made her up to look like her. this created an initial confusion but was met later with much laughter.

the entire concert was no short of fabulous. it had a jazzy and nature feel to it. she did some jazz numbers and it sounded great. well, she made a total of 3 costume changes. she sang an english song and a chinese song which i've no clue wad title they are. theres smthing about her, u can jus sit there and stare at her face for ages and simply smile to yourself. she has this childlike flirtiness in the way when she spoke to the audience. i certainly had a time of my life. this is one experience i would never forget. following are some fotos i took during the concert. its rather small as i wasnt seated too close. but the seating were fine to me. it wasnt that far either i could see everything on stage clearly except for facial expressions. for those, i jus have to love at the big screen to see her face. haha.

the journey home was reallly fun. jasmine had to leave early so i was left alone till the concert ended. i didnt mind that cause i could jus stare at siti and i'd be happy. intended to take a cab home. but firstly there was no taxi stand. secondly, all the cabs there were 'on call'. i noticed the crowd was walking towards the main road. so i decided to follow cause maybe i can find more taxis there. after a really long walk in the cool night weather, i still couldnt find a cab so i setlled at a bus stop. saw a bus coming. noticed that it ended at clementi. maybe i could jus take a cab when i reach there or smthing. oh yah, i had no money in my ez link. so i board the bus without paying. it was fun, i felt like a criminal on the run. haha.

fortunately the bus had a stop somewhere near city hall mrt station. rushed down the bus and went to the station and quickly topped up my ez link card. manage to catch the last train. i reached home at 12.45am. it was a fun and really happy day for me.

gotta stop here. feeling a tad sleepy. do tag in my tagboard k and feel free to advertise my blog to everyone. haha.

hohoho,

today was the day for the Retail Reality Challenge. organised by the cold storage company. this was the qualifying round and there were 84 teams of 4 vying for the top prize of $3000 and other perquisites included. the task, sell as many potato chips and mineral water within 1hr. a lot of people were there for the prize. i was there to have fun. lots of it.

we had to gather at the youth park at 8.30am in the morning for the registration. and all hell broke loose when mother nature decided to have a little fun. it got really wet. it was raining. mind you, it wasnt raining cats and dogs, it was raining cows and hippos and rhinoceros and elephants and whales. well, u get the picture. so we took a cab and zoomed to the youth park which didnt really have a proper shelter. they were loads of people there. it was damn crowded but the vibe was high. everyone was in a good mood sourcing the area for the competitors.

there was a cheering thing going on from the different polys. our was really, erm, to put it nicely, spontaneous. this was how it went... "SHORT AND SWEET, MOST ESTABLISHED, SINGAPORE POLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and add a lot of screaming at the end. yeah. spontaneous. lol.

we were given a tshirt with the logo on it for the competition. some took the effort to decorate them while some prefered the minimalist look. in the case of my team. out shirts were walking advertisement signboards. it had the name of the items we were selling and the price. and oh yah, tonnes of glitter. i had glitter on my hair, face, arms , bags, t shirt, jeans, shoes. and ever heard the story about this guy that whatever he touch turns to gold, well, whatever i touch glittered.lol.

anyway. all teams are separted to 7elevens around singapore. ours was located in bedok. so we took the train looking all glittery. everyone was staring at us. haha. 'let them look , let them stare, what the fuck, i dont care.' haha.

reached there and spoke to our game marshalls. we were early so we decided to look around for a styrofoam box to keep our mineral water cold. rushed to the market 7 blocks away and got it for free from a store selling chicken. well, the box smelt like chicken too. so we went to buy lemon to make it smell better. it worked. yippie. rushed back and did the setting up of our store. everyting was set up nicely. so we decided to practice our 'opening ceremony'. i brought a horn(the one that makes noise not the one to put on ur head) and the other 3 members had whistles. main purpose is to attract attention. the opening ceremony was all of us stand outside our stall and..

let honk represent the sound of the horn each time i pressed it.
let peep represent the sound of the whistle per blow.

'honk honk honk, peep peep peep, honk, peep, honk, peep, honk, peep peep peep.'

it certainly attract attention. we started selling like no tomorrow. enthusiam and morale was high but the only thing was the place damn deserted and very few people only. the next door shop lend us their radio and 7eleven people lent us a table. the people working there are all very nice people. so we screamed, whistled and honk. and in the end, we made a total profit of $94.40. we sold 108 bags of potato chips and a pathetic 10 bottles of mineral water.

i believe my group did an excellent job. it isnt easy selling so many stuff within one hour but we managed. what matters is we had loads of fun. i had so much fun today!!!

here are some pics of the day,

hi everyone, i'm back!!!! wooooooo weeeeeee!!!!!!!

anyone miss me?

truth be told, i've actually lost the will to blog for quite some time. after blogging for so many times and after writing a total of 330 posts, i just feel really tired and needed a break from blogging. well, what matters more is i'm back now.

oooo. let me update you guys bout my wonderful life. life has been really fun and great. school has been really hectic with tonnes and gazillions of projects. its hectic and all but i'm having fun. sure its kinda stressful and all at times. but what fun would it be if everyday was simple and relaxed. i would die of boredom.

what else is there to say bout my life. i work at gv yishun on weekends. have a blast there. its more fun when u work because of the atmosphere and because of your colleagues instead of money. its like i'm having fun and getting paid for it. furthermore, i get to watch free movies!!!! woohoooooo.

next wednesday i will be watching Siti Nurhaliza's Concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. i bought the $115 ticket and am really looking forward to enjoying my time then. i've always wanted to atten siti's concert but they're like in malaysia. so this time when she's performing in singapore, i must grab the opportunity.

went to chanel, louis vuitton, burberry, emporio armani, guess, paul smith and calvin klein. saw a nice nice jacket a EA which i really wanna get. saw a wallet that i fancied at burberry that only cost $400. also saw a nice Guess belt with a 'G' as the buckle. quite cool. i liked the LV one though. it had a gold 'LV' as the buckle but it cost $650. i rather get the burberry wallet sia. in the other stores, didnt see anything that catches my eye that i wanted to get. well, maybe i'll save up to get the stuff i wanted. i better hide my bankbook before my mum finds out. she already made a big fuss when i spent $900 over recently on some stuff.

had fun today shopping with someone.

life is wonderful. life is beautiful. i'm lovin it.

with love,
alijohari.
