hello public

well, i wont go starting this entry apologising on how i havent been updating regularly. i understand how it feels like to keep visiting this blog and not be greeted with a new entry but instead, a video of Jewel yodeling. its like visiting a porn site and the latest video is still paris hilton's. like so last decade.

doing up a blog entry is all about hard work and preparation(yah right). and all i want to do during my free time is snuggle up in bed and watch The Simpsons.

talking about hard work, bring me to this week's pictorial entry.

Sheryl's Birthday.

so how do you celebrate a really really REALLY good friend's birthday? a friend who now, feels more like my long lost sister rather a really HOT sweeeeet babe. although you're still hot and all but i just dont get turned on by you(HAHA). a friend that feels like you've known since the 17th century but still doesnt look beyond 40. a friend who you've seen grown and change and have seen you grown and change as well. a friend who've you done so many things with, whether its crazy or sane. and of course, pretending that you actually like her HUMONGOUS pet golden retriever, Oreo, even though you do not want to be anywhere near 750kilometres around it. why? because, she's my friend.

so obviously, you want her birthday celebration to be really fantastic right?

but fantastic doesnt come easy.

so here's some unseen footages, to sheryl that is, on how it all lead to this..

its all about preparations, preparations and definitely, more preparations.

the first thing you need when you're planning an event, is location. location is really important to create the whole mood.

so weeks before the event, me and jiafang(but i feel like calling her coco cause its so much easier to type coco), so yeah, me and coco scouted for possible locations. we visited hotels after hotels fussing over the right restaurant.

only stopping for high tea to discuss details over tiramisu and macaroons.

cecilia joined us as well straight after she finished work. so we scouted more hotels.

at the end of the day, our feet ached but thats okay, cause we've found that perfect location and have also decided on the presents.

did you know that Hyatt has 2 really huge ass waterfalls in the centre of the building?

next thing to do, is to set the date. especially with everyone's hectic schedules of work, school and national safari, finding that one common date and time is so difficult because usually it all clashes.

and finally, i managed to take an off on a day that coco finishes work early, cecilia's having her off day and sheryl finishes school at 6pm, so that she isnt too early for the whole celebration.

since i managed to be released the night before my off day, thats the only possible slot left for me to help get the 'main present' done. so i met up with cecilia and coco whom both had rushed back from work to meet at coco's void deck to get the main present done.

you know the good thing about being a camwhore and bringing a camera EVERYWHERE you go all the time is the fact that you manage to capture memories.

there are 2 main types of camwhores.

1)the purist.
meaning he only takes fotos of himself and his face. this is the highest level of narcissism as he is totally unaffected by his surroundings. the only thing that matters is that his face is on the picture.

2)the anarchist or sometimes also referred to the unorthodoxist.
a slightly lower level of narcissism. feels that a picture should tell a story and that he is the main actor. doesnt not only concentrate fully on being in the picture but instead focuses more on how how the surrounding makes him look gorgeous in the picture.

yeah, i know a certain amount of you might debate my existence as a purist. but i'm actually more of an anarchist.

anyways, like i was saying before digressed into the structure of camwhorism, the good thing about being a camwhore is that you manage to freeze a moment in the past.

the 'i'm tired but i have to smile for the camera' look.

so i had all this fotos of us and our frens over the years and we decided that the best gift would be memories in print. so we decided to do up a collage for the main present.

and boy oh boy, was collage a fantastic idea. we spent HOURS cutting fotos into shape, moving them around the frame to see where it fits, and when it all looks nice, removing the picture one by one and applying double sided tape on each piece to make sure they dont fall apart. and last but not least, wrapping the whole thing up.

the 'i'm tired but thank god we finished the collage' look.

the 'i'm tired, i missed CSI and i just want to go home and sleep' look.

so after a very loooong evening of cutting and sticking everything into place. while having dinner of macdonalds under a void deck and having coco's bf's father think that i'm her brother, we finally completed the main present and decided to call it a day or you might say a late night.

coco is only happy cause she can just go right up and sleep(its her void deck) while the rest of us have to take a cab home.

but you know, i kinda enjoyed the staying back late to do the collage. cause in a way, it reminded me of doing projects in poly with these girls and rushing the deadline cause we're always last minute. but secretly, i enjoyed the adrenaline of rushing. hahahaha.

well, i guess i'll blog about the actual day of celebration another time. its like 7.30am in the morning and i've yet to sleep. well, thats it for now then. expect an extremely picture loaded entry for the next post and till next time, take care.

toodles
